Australian Innovators Honoured at the 2018 Consensus Awards

Sydney, 26 July 2018 — Four Australian-developed technologies have been recognised at the 2018 Consensus Awards, presented by The Hon. Zed Seselja, Federal Assistant Minister for Science, Jobs & Innovation, at PricewaterhouseCoopers' Barangaroo offices in Sydney.
Held on the evening of Wednesday 25 July, the event brought together Australian technology innovators, industry representatives and members of the Consensus community for the presentation of the 2018 Consensus Software Awards and Consensus Innovation Awards.
Four technologies received Consensus Awards across the two programs, recognising their innovation, demonstrated performance and potential for further commercial development.
Software innovation recognised
Systema AI Pty Ltd received a 2018 Consensus Software Award for AirShare ecommerce, recognising the Australian-developed technology through Consensus' independent evaluation process.
Rounded Pty Ltd also received a Consensus Software Award for Rounded, joining the 2018 cohort of Australian technology companies recognised by Consensus.
The Software Awards continued Consensus' longstanding focus on identifying locally designed and developed technology capable of delivering genuine performance benefits while demonstrating potential for further product and market development.
Innovation Awards recognise two Australian solutions
Two further companies received 2018 Consensus Innovation Awards.
Solo Cover Pty Ltd was recognised for Solo Cover, the technology that would later become associated with Sami Insurance.
UNIFY Solutions Pty Ltd received an Innovation Award for UNIFYAdvantage.
The Innovation Awards were presented to an enthusiastic audience of Award recipients and industry representatives at PwC Barangaroo.
The judging process examined each technology independently against the Consensus criteria of Innovation, Performance and Potential rather than ranking entrants against one another.
Independent industry assessment
The 2018 Consensus Innovation Awards judging was hosted by Business Strategies International (BSI) and involved an extensive independent judging panel chaired by Hugh Gyton.
The panel brought together expertise from across technology, business and industry to assess the commercial and technological merits of the nominated solutions.
The Innovation judging panel also conferred a Highly Commended recognition on Ikabo for the Ikabo Incubator.
The 2018 presentation continued almost two decades of Consensus identifying and recognising Australian technology through independent industry assessment.
With Consensus approaching its 20th year, the Awards continued to demonstrate the depth and diversity of technology being designed and developed in Australia.
