Julian Day
Consensus Awards was founded by Julian Day in 2000 with a clear vision: to create a structured and credible way to identify innovation with real commercial potential.
At a time when many awards focused on visibility rather than substance, the program was designed to apply discipline, consistency and independent evaluation to recognise organisations at an early stage of growth.
Over the past 25 years, this approach has remained unchanged.
The continued accuracy of the program, reflected in the long-term success of its winners, is a direct result of that original vision.
As Consensus enters its next phase, including expanded events and the development of an investment pathway, it continues to build on the foundation established from the outset.

Behind the Consesus Awards
What began as an idea to improve how innovation was identified has grown into one of Australia's longest-running innovation awards programs.
Julian recognised that many groundbreaking ideas struggled to gain recognition because they lacked an independent and credible way to demonstrate their value.
Rather than creating another awards program focused on popularity or marketing, he developed a framework that prioritised evaluation, commercial potential and long-term outcomes.
That philosophy continues to guide the program today.
