Some of Australia's most promising technology companies were recognised tonight at the 2004 Consensus Software Awards, celebrating innovation, technical excellence and the organisations shaping the future of Australian software.
Held at the Sheraton on the Park Hotel in Sydney, the annual Awards brought together leaders from government, business and the technology sector to honour software companies demonstrating outstanding commercial potential and the ability to compete on the global stage.
The Awards were presented by The Hon. Daryl Williams AM KC MP, Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts, together with Steve Vamos, Managing Director of Microsoft Australia, recognising the growing contribution Australian software companies are making to the nation's economy and international reputation.
The 2004 Consensus Software Awards were proudly supported by Microsoft as Principal Sponsor, with program partners FB Rice & Co and British Midlands, and Australian Developer Magazine serving as Official Media Partner.

Consensus Awards Founder Julian Day said this year's program demonstrated the increasing maturity of Australia's software sector and its growing ability to compete internationally.
