Speaking at the presentation, Senator Richard Alston highlighted the unique role the Consensus Software Awards continues to play in supporting Australia's technology sector.
"The Consensus Software Awards have become something of a crystal ball for anyone wanting a glimpse of the future of the Australian software sector," Senator Alston said.
"The practice of offering targeted support services to finalists and winners, to help them better exploit their opportunities and reach their potential, has added real value and real substance to these awards."
He also welcomed the introduction of venture capital consultancy services for winners, helping innovative Australian businesses better understand their options for commercialisation, investment and future growth.
"The Consensus Awards are about much more than applauding local innovation. They are about industry development. They are about identifying excellence and then helping it become par excellence."
Supporting Australia's Future Innovators
All winners and shortlisted finalists will receive official Judges' Citations, event photography and an invitation to licence the prestigious "Endorsed by Consensus" mark for use in their marketing and promotional activities.
The independent endorsement provides recognised organisations with a valuable point of differentiation as they continue building their businesses and taking Australian innovation to domestic and international markets.
Now firmly established as Australia's longest-running independent software awards program, the Consensus Software Awards continues to identify organisations demonstrating genuine innovation, commercial potential and the ability to shape the future of technology.
