Australian Software Innovation Takes Centre Stage at the 2002 Consensus Software Awards

The strength and diversity of Australia's software industry was on full display tonight as the winners of the 2002 Consensus Software Awards were announced at the Sheraton on the Park Hotel in Sydney.
Recognising organisations developing innovative software solutions across business, finance, enterprise technology and digital communications, the annual Awards continue to showcase Australian companies demonstrating excellence in software design, technical achievement and commercial potential.
The 2002 Awards were presented by Senator Kate Lundy, Shadow Minister for Information Technology, Peter Beckingham, British Consul General, and David Reeve, Country Manager – Developer Relations, IBM Australia and New Zealand.

The winning products were recognised for their innovation, technical excellence and ability to solve real business challenges through practical software solutions.
Consensus Awards Founder Julian Day said the increasing quality and diversity of entries reflected the rapid evolution of Australia's software industry.
"The calibre of entries continues to demonstrate the depth of innovation being developed by Australian software companies. The organisations recognised this year have shown not only technical excellence, but a clear understanding of market needs and commercial opportunity."

International Recognition for Australian Innovation
Special congratulations were extended to Vesereo Pty Ltd, which was selected by IBM Developer Relations to participate in IBM developerWorks Live! in San Francisco from **7–10 May 2002.
