From Construction Sites to Classrooms: Australia’s 2024 Innovators Step Forward

Sydney, December 2024 — Five Australian-developed technologies have been recognised as Winners in the 2024 Consensus Awards, with a further two receiving Highly Commended recognition across two editions of the Awards held during the year.
The 2024 recipients spanned Software, Innovation, MedTech, EdTech and FinTech, showcasing Australian innovation across industries ranging from construction and healthcare to education, payments and digital technology.
The first edition of the 2024 Consensus Awards was presented on Monday, 22 July at Herbert Smith Freehills in Sydney, with Senator The Hon. Jonathan Duniam joining Consensus Founder Julian Day for the presentations.
A second edition followed in December at Easts Leagues Club in Sydney, concluding the 2024 Consensus Awards program.
Across the two editions, five technologies satisfied the Consensus judging criteria of Innovation, Performance and Potential and were conferred Consensus Awards.
Three Winners recognised in Edition I
Three Australian technologies received Consensus Awards in the first edition of 2024.
Commnia received a Consensus Innovation Award for Commnia / SmartForms, recognising technology developed to improve the way information and processes are managed across construction projects.
EASY FALL Guttering Pty Ltd received a Consensus Innovation Award for the EASY FALL Guttering System, an Australian-developed approach to guttering designed to provide the correct fall required for effective water flow.
The third Winner, Safe Watch Care Pty Ltd, received a Consensus MedTech Award for the Safe Watch Platform.
Safe Watch's technology demonstrated how digital innovation could be applied within healthcare and care environments, joining the growing number of Australian MedTech technologies recognised through the Consensus Awards.
One additional technology received Highly Commended recognition in the Software category during Edition I.
Edition II recognises innovation in education and financial technology
The second edition of the 2024 Consensus Awards brought another two Winners into the Consensus alumni community.
CampusQ Pty Ltd received a Consensus EdTech Award for invigilatorPlus, recognising its technology within the rapidly evolving digital education environment.
Hello Clever received a Consensus FinTech Award for its Real-time Payment Gateway with Embedded Loyalty, combining payments technology with integrated customer rewards.
A further technology received Highly Commended recognition in the Innovation category.
The December presentation at Easts Leagues Club was MC'd by Emmanuel Constantinou, President of the Bondi & Districts Chamber of Commerce, and also incorporated the Kester Lifetime Achievement Award and Consensus IT Writers Awards.

Independent industry assessment
As has been the case throughout the history of the Consensus Awards, the 2024 recipients were not selected through public voting or simply ranked against one another.
Technologies were independently evaluated by industry judging panels against three core criteria: Innovation, Performance and Potential.
This process enables judges to assess whether a technology demonstrates genuine innovation, whether it can substantiate its performance and whether it has the potential for further commercial or market development.
Dentons Lawyers supported the 2024 Awards by hosting judging, continuing the involvement of experienced industry and professional organisations in the Consensus evaluation process.
The first edition presentations were hosted at Herbert Smith Freehills in Sydney.
Australian innovation across industries
The five 2024 Winners illustrate the breadth of problems being tackled by Australian innovators.
From improving construction processes and water management to care technology, digital education and real-time payments, the year's recipients were developing solutions for markedly different industries.
What connected them was the same principle that has underpinned Consensus for more than two decades: technology should not simply be different. It should demonstrate that its innovation works and that there is meaningful potential for what comes next.
The 2024 Consensus Awards continued that tradition, recognising another cohort of Australian technologies with the capacity to create commercial and societal impact.
