2020 Consensus Awards recognise Australian innovation in an extraordinary year

October 2020 — In a year unlike any other, the Consensus Awards continued their mission of identifying and recognising outstanding Australian-developed technology, with two companies receiving Consensus Awards in 2020.
With COVID-19 restrictions preventing the usual face-to-face judging and presentation process, the 2020 Awards moved online, with final evaluations conducted via Zoom.
Two Australian technologies emerged as Consensus Award Winners: Triggr, recognised in the Software category, and 1WordFlow, recognised in the Innovation category for its technology now known as Revealr.
Consensus Software Award Winner — Triggr
Triggr received a 2020 Consensus Software Award for its artificial intelligence-powered B2B sales intelligence platform.
The technology was developed to help sales and marketing teams identify when potential customers may be ready to buy by applying machine learning to publicly available data.
Rather than relying solely on information already stored within traditional CRM systems, Triggr analyses external data and identifies events and signals that may indicate buyer intent. These insights can then be used to identify relevant prospects and provide sales representatives with appropriate messaging across social, phone and email channels.
The Consensus judging panel recognised both the innovation behind the technology and its significant commercial potential.
At the time of judging, Triggr was growing its customer base and had attracted investment from H2 Ventures and a number of high-profile individual investors.
Judges highlighted the enormous growth in publicly available data and Triggr's ability to acquire, filter, classify and apply artificial intelligence to disparate data sources to create actionable sales intelligence.
The panel also identified strong global potential for the technology as Triggr built upon its early performance in the Australian market.
Consensus Innovation Award Winner — 1WordFlow
1WordFlow received a 2020 Consensus Innovation Award for its technology, now known as Revealr.
The recognition saw 1WordFlow join Triggr as one of just two Consensus Award Winners in 2020, continuing the Awards' recognition of Australian-developed technology despite the unprecedented disruption caused by the global pandemic.
Judging continued despite COVID-19
The circumstances surrounding the 2020 Awards were markedly different from previous years.
Unable to conduct the traditional in-person process, Consensus moved its final evaluations online, allowing its independent judging panel to continue assessing Australian technology during COVID-19 restrictions.
